The Hot Spring:

Boiling Springs are a couple of very hot springs flowing from a nice rock formation on the Middle Fork of the Payette River.  The water emerges at about 188 degrees F and flows to a couple volunteer built sand and gravel pools below the rock formation.  The pools are a bit hot but the temperature can be altered by changing the flow of the hot water into the pool.  The best temp pool is the one directly under the overhang which is usually around 108 degrees F.  There are also a couple cooler riverside pools from the runoff of the upper pools.  The springs are adjacent to an old guard station that has been converted into a rent-able cabin.  Rumors say that when the cabin is rented the springs are included, so the riverside pools are the only legally soakable pools when the cabin is rented.  Because of the close proximity to a campground Boiling springs can be very popular on weekends where the riverside pools fill with children.
